Mid-Autumn Festival

As the name suggests, it is a festival celebrated in mid-autumn by Southeastern Asian communities. Its history can be traced back over 3000 years. Ancient Chinese culture believes that the moon is the fullest on this day, which symbolizes unity and prosperity. Lanterns are lightened to pray for good fortune. The signature food, mooncake, is often consumed to signifies reunion and completeness of families – just like the shape of the moon.
