Understand the conflict: Turkey-PKK

The conflict between the Turkish government and the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) – recognised as a terrorist organisation by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU – has been going on for about 35 years. After two and a half year-long peace negotiations, the conflict broke out again in summer 2015.
